BIOGRAPHY
Originally from Northern California, Christian Ferretti is a director and photographer based in Los Angeles and New York. He began his career assisting Annie Leibovitz, Steven Klein, and Craig McDean—an early education in the precision, discipline, and scale of image-making.
Influenced by the photography of the 1990s and the chiaroscuro of Italian giallo cinema, Ferretti has developed a visual language that is bold, sensual, and cinematic. His approach to lighting ranges from meticulously controlled studio work to atmospheric filmic compositions and the immediacy of natural daylight. Across stills and motion, his images balance technical precision with tension, intimacy, and narrative.
From 2014 through 2023, Ferretti maintained a decade-long collaboration with Tom Ford, creating an extensive body of still and motion work across fashion, beauty, fragrance, eyewear, accessories, and product. The relationship reflects his ability to understand a brand from within, evolve alongside it, and deliver consistently across campaigns, platforms, and formats.
Christian's editorial and commercial clients include Interview Magazine, Harper's Bazaar, Visionaire, Vogue Italia, Tom Ford, Pat McGrath Labs, Milk Makeup, MAC, Sephora, Clé De Peau, Estée Lauder, Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, Nike, Swarovski, Revlon, CoverGirl, Aveda, Buxom Cosmetics, BOSS, Donna Karan, and Urban Decay.
